It Has Been Ages

This is a tough year and I am not coping as well as I wish I was. Oh well, it has to get better.

There have been a few things that I have been meaning to write about. I am a reader. I love books. I love working in a book store, being surrounded by books, recommending books, hearing about my co-workers favorite books. Reading, for me is a pleasure, an education, a mind expanding experience.

Since I love reading so much it has always saddened me that neither of my boys has been a reader. In yet another attempt to interest them in reading I told them they had to read at least 3 books this summer and to show how important it was to me, I would pay them for each book they read. It's working, kind of. Ben is reading (Harry Potter) slowly. Albert is going to town on that series. He is on the last book and is planing to read Angles and Demons next. While I would love to take credit for the reading binge, the credit belongs partly to his girl friend for telling him to read but even more to his own good sense. He finally is realizing that reading can be fun.

My son isn't a reader either! But I'll take a book over a TV show any day. Having one at the beach is heaven!

Had an absolutely lovely time at your house down at the ocean! Beaches and weather were wonderful and only had rain in the night or late evenings! Water at the ocean was bathtub warm!

Will call you soon!

Tough Year??!! Guess it depends on which way you are looking at life.

You have new adventures... more or less full time work that you love and issues with your mom that while scary you understand and can help her through (what a wonderful gift that will be). Your present and future includes a month long vacation, friends who love and support you, sons who are fine young men who are not into drugs or street gangs and who you've raised to be independent and capable (honey, they will come home to you again and again - your thier rock! Trust me on this one.) Add in a loving husband, fantastic weight loss, pets who drive you crazy... "sound like life to me" as that new country song says.

How do you define coping? Pat yourself on the back girl give your self some credit! Most folks would have climbed under a rug and refused to come out but you've plugged on and continue to make plans for the present and future.

Life is about change and change is going to happen whether you want it or not. Best to take it on and put your own twist on it!

Love ya,
