Fewer Weekly Push-Ups

I was, and still am proud of doing 120 push-ups six days a week.  But I've stopped.  I'm now doing 120 push-ups twice a week.  I reduced the it because I finally got smart.  My arms ached, just slightly, all the time.  And that ache made yoga harder.  And I love yoga.  I did some research and learned about the importance of rest days.
So my new regime is Monday  and Wednesday -Yoga, Tuesday and Sunday - Treadmill  and Thursday and Sunday -Push-ups.

Had To Smack Her

I love Target's "Long and Lean" tank tops.  They are long and lean and stretchy.  I like the long and need the stretchy.  I was wearing my favorite one the other day, under a real shirt while shopping at Giant.  Hubby was in the check out line and I was waiting for him a few feet away (I hate being in a crowd.)  I noticed the woman in line behind him, the tall, slender woman in line behind him was wearing my tank top.  She was wearing it with out another shirt on top.  And she looked good.  My only recourse was to smack her.

PushUps, Yoga & Court

1.  Still doing my daily push ups.  I've worked up from two sets of ten pushups on the fourth step to two sets of forty pushups on the 2nd step, each six days a week. I'm right proud of myself.

2.  Al and I have started a yoga class at the senior center.  I'm (after 1class) enjoying it.  It is a bit of a workout, just a bit, It feels good to be all stretched out at the end of the hour.

3. Today we went to court in support of someone loved. We were all dressed nicely, business casual. I even wore stockings (and hated it). I was surprised that it didn't seem to matter to the judge. I saw jeans, tee shirts, yoga pants, short tight dresses and mostly casual clothes. What surprised me even more is it didn't seem to matter to the judge. He was fair, pleasant and on the lenient side. He reduced fines and determined PBJ (probation before judgement, not the sandwich) in most cases. He listened respectfully and completely. I was impressed. but I also think that job could get to be deadly dull before too long.

Push Up!

I woke up this morning pleased that it was a push up day!  Big change from a few days ago.  In fact, I kinda missed doing push ups yesterday.

Tomorrow is a Free Day

No push ups tomorrow.  Yippee.

I am at an all time high of 730 push ups this week.  To get there I am doing, on average, 120 push ups a day (4 sets of 30).

I've been pushing up six days a week for seven weeks. And I am proud.  At least until I think of all the weeks I wasted before now.

But, once I stop whinnying about the past I remind myself that I am doing good.  I have a goal (1 set of 100 man push ups, a day, six days a week by my 62nd birthday) I have a plan to get there and I am on target.  In fact, in celebration, sang a bit of "I am woman" when I completed my last set tonight.

Pushups, Pushups and Cup Cakes

I do 120 pushups a day, usually 4 sets of 30. I wake up thinking, dang I have to do pushups again.  It's not that they are boring, it goes to fast to be boring, it's that there is no end in sight.  I can't at some point say, wow I'm fit, I'm healthy, I never have to work,at it again.

I guess, that's the problem, being fit, being healthy is work.  At least for me it's work. Maybe if I keep going it will at some time be fun.

I see cup cakes advertised all over the place and I want one. The problem is all they are is a little bit of cake and lots of frosting. Too much. Too sweet. But I see them in magazines, on the Internet, in my dreams and I want one. Dang the power of ads.

The Seven Hundred Club

I did 700 pushups last week, half on the fourth step half on the third.   I am surprised that's moving one step down makes them significantly harder.   Though, I am learning that they get easier as the week goes on.  Life is good.

It is surprisingly easy to motivate myself to do this. Surprisingly!  And that surprises me.  Life style change.  And it is about time to add in another exercise.  It should be walking, but I may decide to add in crunches instead.
